Before Your Installation
Can you install flooring purchased elsewhere?
Yes. Installation-only projects are welcome. Tell us about the flooring you have selected so we can discuss its requirements and your space.
Is existing flooring removal included?
Removal of floating carpet, laminate or vinyl may be included in qualifying installation work. Disposal may be a separate charge. Tile, glued or nailed flooring removal is evaluated and quoted separately.
Do you move furniture?
We commonly help move standard heavy furniture as a courtesy when appropriate. Please clear smaller belongings, electronics and fragile items before installation. We will discuss access and any special needs with you.
What if my floor needs leveling?
Leveling and additional subfloor preparation depend on actual site conditions. We discuss the work needed and address it in your project estimate.
Are quarter round and transitions included?
Applicable standard flooring-and-installation packages include quarter round, transition pieces and vapor barrier. The exact materials depend on your flooring and project. Baseboards and stair work are priced separately.
Is buying flooring and installation together a better value?
JV generally offers more favorable installation labor pricing when you purchase the flooring through us. You also have one team coordinating material supply and installation. Your written estimate shows the applicable scope and pricing.
What does the installation labor warranty cover?
Labor coverage addresses installation workmanship under your project agreement. JV generally offers two- or five-year labor warranties, depending on the flooring and agreement; premium products may qualify for longer coverage. We confirm the applicable terms for your project.
How does it differ from a manufacturer warranty?
A manufacturer warranty covers the flooring product under its own terms; it is separate from installation workmanship. A 50-year product warranty does not mean 50 years of labor coverage. When JV supplies the flooring, we can assist with applicable manufacturer claims, without guaranteeing approval. Flooring purchased elsewhere is typically handled through the original retailer or manufacturer.
